Poachers arrested with Leopard skin in Simlipal National Park; 11 November 2011: In a joint raid by forest officials and wildlife activists, six poachers were arrested from Chandabila village under Bisoi range of Rairangpur Forest Division of Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district on Friday. Leopard skin confiscated in Uttar Pradesh; 31 October 2011 : Aliganj police nabbed two persons and recovered Leopard skin from them. The duo was arrested on Monday evening. Rare snakes and venom seized in New Delhi; 27 October 2011 : Ten rare snakes were rescued in separate raids conducted by police and an NGO - People For Animals - in central and north Delhi.The raids, which took place in Jama Masjid area on Wednesday and Shahadra on Thursday, led to the recovery of nine sand boas and a cobra. Tiger skin recovered in Andhra Pradesh; 17 October 2011 : Adilabad Forest officials arrested two persons for selling Tiger skin.The accused were arrested and sent for remand. Two people arrested for suspected poaching; 17 October 2011: Two suspected poachers, who allegedly killed a 12-year-old tigress three days ago in Uttarakhand’s Champawat district, have been arrested. Leopard skin seized in Bengal; 10 October 2011 : A Leopard skin was seized by the forest department from a spare parts shop on BT Road in Kolkata. Tucked away in a shelf at the rear, the skin was found during a raid following a tip-off. Police is on the lookout for the shop-owner who is absconding. Blackbuck rescued from GK, New Delhi; 4 October 2011: A live sub-adult Blackbuck Antilope Cervicapra was rescued from Greater Kailash (GK) near W-Block Park. Leopard skin and other wildlife products seized in Uttarakhand; 29 September 2011 : Two Leopard skins, the gall bladder of a Himalayan Black Bear, the musk pod of a Musk Deer, and other items were seized by the Special Operations Group of the Uttarakhand Police in Sukhi Dhang, Uttar Kashi, Uttarakhand. 14 Shahtoosh shawls seized at IGI airport in Delhi; 13 September 2011: In probably one of the biggest seizures of wildlife goods at the airport, customs officials at IGI airport arrested a resident of Srinagar on Tuesday night for carrying 25 Shahtoosh shawls, 89 pashmina shawls and 55 stoles. Tiger bones found in Tadoba Tiger Reserve; 24 August 2011 : The staffers of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) on Wednesday discovered bones of a dead Tiger in Moharli range. The search for the Tiger bones was reportedly carried out on the basis of information given by an NGO. Sources said a total of 70 pieces of bones of Tiger have been recovered from the spot. The bones appeared to be that of an old Tiger and might be lying there since quite some time. Tiger bones seized, two people arrested; 21 August 2011: Two people have been arrested for illegal trade in Tiger bones in the Bharatinagar police station limits. Red Sanders Smuggler arrested; 10 August 2011 : The Tiruvalluvar Police on Thursday arrested a 45-year-old man said to be the kingpin of a Red sanders smuggling racket, in Red Hills. The arrest of N Ramanathan alias 'rifle' Ramanathan follows the seizure of nearly 70 tonnes of Red sanders from two godowns belonging to him near Ponneri. Wildlife trade racket busted ; 5 August 2011 :
 Chhattisgarh police has arrested a man alleged to be the “kingpin” of an extensive network of illegal trade in animal and plant wildlife that extended to other Asian countries after an 18-month cloak-and-dagger operation. The accused, a resident of Moreh in Manipur, was detained by immigration authorities at Chennai airport on July 13 while he was trying to flee to Bangkok. Karnataka convicts poachers for killing Tigers; 5 August 2011: For the first time in Karnataka, three Tiger poachers were convicted and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by the 9th Addl Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court in Bangalore. A team from Upparpet police station had nabbed a three-member gang on 17 August 2008, in Gandhinagar. Acting on a tip-off, the police contingent had arrested the trio and seized two Tiger pelts, Tiger paws and a few pieces of Tiger bones. Two arrested for holding Leopard skin; 31 July 2011: Two persons were arrested from South Delhi on Sunday for allegedly dealing in body parts of endangered animals. Forest Department rescues exotic birds and animals from private zoo; 12 July 2011: Forest department discovered an illegal zoo running inside a school campus in Ranchi after which it began the process to rescue exotic birds and animals from the zoo. This zoo was located in the Bariatu campus of Hi-Q International Academy. As per the forest officials they found five peacocks, eight Himalayan pigeon, hundreds of other birds and also an Australian Emu. Live ornamental turtles seized from a passenger at Cochin airport; 12 July 2011: Officials of the Air Customs Intelligence Unit at the Cochin International Airport on Tuesday seized about 6000 live ornamental turtles from a passenger who arrived from Singapore. The passenger attempted to pass through the green channel and told customs that he was not carrying anything that needed to be declared. However, he was stopped by officials on suspicion. When his baggage was checked, officials found that he had concealed live ornamental turtles in it. Leopard skin seized, four held; 10 July 2011: In the fifth incident in the district this year, the Chandrapur police seized Leopard skin from four men near Kothari, 200km from Nagpur. Four turtles found in train saved; 9July 2011: 
The Railway Protection Force found four green turtles in the baggage of a passenger on a train from Delhi at Chennai Central. Over one kilogramme of ivory seized in Dehradun; 26 June 2011: A man was arrested for allegedly possessing ivory at the Jaspur area of Udhamsingh Nagar district.
